Plyometrics - Day 2 Results

Wow! I found this much easier to do then day one that was yesterdays chest and back. Granted its probably cause I was actually able to get some sleep. I had only slept 6 hours in the past 3 nights combined. So it seems chest and back helped me be tired enough to sleep. When Tony says 'this is the mother of all p90x workouts' I was a little nervous and thinking I wouldnt be able to finish the entire dvd. Yesterday with chest and back I had to take a 20 minute break or thereabouts. That wouldnt be needed today with plyometrics.

I started sweating during the stretching and it didnt stop till I jumped in the shower some 20 minutes after the dvd was over. I was constantly checking my heart rate monitor being yesterday it was over 190, the highest I seen today was 183. I didnt have any of the dizziness or lightheadedness as I did yesterday. I really felt good with this workout. I was a littlel tired and winded in some parts more then others, but for the most part I felt really good. I made sure I 'brought' it, but that I also didnt bring to much that I would get to the point where I did yesterday. This is a 90 day progam that will help me build throughout so theres no reason not to start with some baby steps and progress to a sprint as the days go by.

The first set of exercises were pretty good, I kicked the chair during the swing kicks a few times but was able to last the full minute each time.

The second circle run for me was a smaller circle as I was feeling winded but was able to go the full length. That was my goal today before I started to finish the entire dvd and to finish and do as much of each exercise as I could even if I had to modify a bit. So Goal Complete!

The 3rd set of exercises I found to be rather easy but I didnt look back during the second set of twist combos as to not make myself dizzy.

4th group of exercises .. Ha! I dont know what my body was doing but it could not figure out how to do the military marches correctly. Much like the crunchy frogs on the ab ripper x program. With the military marches it supposed to be right arm back left leg up and then vice versa. Not my body. Right arm up right leg up. Both sets of these I found myself trying to do them correctly but my body wouldnt allow it. Its comical now that I think about it. I just stopped typing up this blog post and did them, and correctly I might add, but during the actual workout NOPE! We will see how I do next tuesday morning with these.

5th group of exercises had hot foot. It seems I had pretty much only had a problem with the 1 minute exercises. 15 seconds into hot foot for the first set I ended up switching legs did 15 second there switched up etc until it was done. The second time around I forced myself to bring it, and I did finish the full 30 seconds with each foot.

The bonus three exercises of baseball basketball and football. Tony says dont make fun of his left arm throws, well thats something I can do way better then Tony can cause my left arm throws were horrible. And not cause I was tired but because it felt so unnatrual for me as Im a right hander. But the other two exercises I was fine with.

I was going to jump in the pool but figured if it was to cold that wouldn't be good for my body that was hot and sweaty as it would be to much of a 'shock' to the body, as if P90X isnt already a huge shock. So I decided to jump in the shower instead as Id have more control of the tempature of the water. Afterwards I jumped on my bed and ended up falling asleep for about an hour. Well now Im sore in my shoulders and arms. Not so much any other part of my body. My abs should probably be sore but I certainly didnt even come closing to 'bringing it' during yesterdays ab ripper x dvd. After I woke up from my little nap I was without the internet for a little while so that slowed down my posting of this blog.

As far as a recovery forumla, I really dont like the P90X recovery formula. The 'Smooth Orange' just isnt for me. I also have Gold Standard 100% Double Chocolate Whey Protein and even more so not liking the flavor of that. So Ill just have to drink more water after each workout.
