  1. Week 3 - Working out while on vacation

    I'm writing this from the beach house, enjoying my 5th day of vacation overlooking the ocean. The weather has been hot, sunny and humid. I haven't done P90x every day but I have done a workout of some sort every day. The P90X workouts i've done this week so far was yoga and plyometrics, which I felt like I mastered this week. It was still hard and both worked up quite a sweat - however I was able to get through the entire DVD without pausing and with a new level "expertise" so to speak. ...

  2. Day 13 - Legs & Back

    The latter part of my week I switched the workouts around a bit. During the weekends, because i'm not a kenpo fan, i'm sticking to my run and swim workouts and therefore only doing 5 days of p90x, with Sunday being a rest day. I ended up taking my rest day on Thursday, due to my schedule and because I wasn't feeling great. I did my long run day yesterday.

    So today, I did legs & back and tomorrow I plan on doing yoga. Back to the regular schedule again on Monday.

  3. Day 10 - Shoulder & Arms, Abs

    It tooks 10 days, but I finally feel like I can say I "brought it" during this workout. I increased weights by 2 - 4 pounds (using 10 and 12 lb weights as opposed to 8 lb. weights which I used the first week). Kept with higher reps (tried to average 15 reps each exercise). On a handful of exercises, I put a star next to the weight, to remind myself next time that I think I can handle more on that specific exercise. My arms and shoulders felt shot at the end - just the way they should. ...

  4. Day 9 - Plyometrics and Hill Repeats

    My boyfriend wakes up very early on Tuesday to go to a cycling class. Because the forecast called for temps in the 90s with high humidity, I decided to wake up with him to hit the park for my run while it was still a "cool" 75 degrees. On my schedule was just a 40 minute run, with 5 X 1:00 hill repeats. During some of my runs in July, my legs would feel tight, stiff and "flare up", limiting my ability to get a good performance in.   5. Day 8 - Chest & Back, Abs, and Swim

    My goal for this workout was to increase the reps by 2 - 5 on each exercise as well as the weight by 2- 4 pounds when applicable. I felt like I worked harder than last week, but can probably work harder still.

    Today was a little test, to see if I can get this workout in, then hit up my masters swim class. The answer is no. I had no top end speed for the workout and my upper body was just shot. I didn't have this problem last week because I didn't attend the swim class. So, ...
