I'm a former dancer and now an endurance athlete (marathons, triathlons) - so the two workouts I feel like i'm conditioned for are plyometrics and yoga. Well, we haven't gotten to the yoga workout yet so it is still to be seen - but the plyometrics workout - Oh My God! It was difficult for me - but not difficult in my lungs hurt kind of way. Difficult in that my legs were already shot before I started the workout.

How is that possible, you might ask, considering we also haven't done the legs & back workout yet. Well, my hip flexors and quads were burning during the ab ripper X workout from Monday (doing those in and outs and bicycles). Then, I did an easy 30 minute run an hour before doing the plyometrics workout, and my quads started feeling a bit more sore. This workout completely killed my quads.

So I wake up early today to get the Shoulders and Arms workout in before I started my day. I rolled out of bed and I swear every muscle in my body ached. Still, I pressed on, and completed the workout. I'm no so familiar with my capabilities in terms of the correct weight to use - so all workouts were done with 8 - 10 lb. dumbbells. Only a few (mostly those with my triceps) did I feel like I was getting the right "burn". I'll have to step it up to 12 - 15 lb. weights next time.

I'm struggling to eat 2000 calories a day. When you're not filling yourself up with carbs, it's hard when a full cup of vegetables is only 50 calories! But, i'm happy to say that I have not strayed from the appropriate foods - no sodas or chips or pizzas or french fries. Now that is quite an accomplishment for me!
