I've never done any kind of martial art, so this was a bit foreign to me. And perhaps it's because I have a background as a technical dancer, but I was so concerned with my form that I really didn't feel I got that great of a workout. I was a bit bored, particularly when it came to only doing jabs. In the beginning of the DVD, Tony said to be sure your heartrate was in the zone because this is meant to be a cardiovascular workout. So immediately following this workout I went out for a 30 minute ...
I felt the best I have all week when I woke up this morning. The yoga routine really helped stretch me out and relieve the soreness I had been carrying around. I'm afraid that soreness will be back after this workout. Despite feeling better, my quads still felt worn. I hung with them on every exercise without pushing pause - however, almost every other set I didn't do as many reps as they did. The abs workout was a bit better than earlier this week, where I did at least 20 of ...
I've practiced yoga, on and off, for the past 15 years. The last few years have been more "off" than "on", and tonight's practice showed me how far i've regressed. There was a time I would have breezed through this workout - not that I wouldn't be working hard but I would stick every pose without taking any breaks. That was not the case this time - I found after about 20 minutes ...
I'm a former dancer and now an endurance athlete (marathons, triathlons) - so the two workouts I feel like i'm conditioned for are plyometrics and yoga. Well, we haven't gotten to the yoga workout yet so it is still to be seen - but the plyometrics workout - Oh My God! It was difficult for me - but not difficult in my lungs hurt kind of way. Difficult in that my legs were already shot before I started the workout. How is that possible, you might ask, considering we also haven't ...
I had two major hurdles to tackle on Day 1 of P90X - getting through the one workout that highlights my largest weaknesses (Chest and Back) and shifting my diet to high protein/low carbs for the next 30 days. I'm proud to say I didn't give up during the workout, nor pressed pause - but I certainly did less reps then all of them on TV and took the easier route (push ups from knees, pull-ups with assistance of a chair). That shaky feeling when the workout was done was very gratifying ...
