P90X Peak Performance Bars - Chocolate Peanut Butter Bar Reivew

    Hm...

Where to start on this one...

The chocolate taste - I broke peices of the chocolate off the corners and ate that first. Its okay but not that real chocolate flavor. I love dark chocoalte. This isnt the taste of dark or regular chocolate. More like processed chocolate, where it just doesnt taste right. You know the Nestle morsels where they taste fine in chocolate chip cookies, but when you eat them alone it doesnt taste all that great, or the store brand ones. Yea the chocolate here is like that.

The peanut butter - Being I love peanut butter, Im a little confused as to what peanuts they used to make this bar. As its not the regular peanut butter taste Im used to which is 'Skippy' peanut butter. Of course its not going to be like 'skippy' and Im sure its a much better peanut butter but Im not caring for the taste. Its leaving me wanting more flavor. Its like a soft taffy almost.

The bar itself - I was expecting to take a bite and it crumble in the wrapper or into my hand, but that didn't happen. So this would be safe for eating in a car where you might be worried if you would get chocolate on your shirt while going from place to place as a mid day snack.

Nutritional value - At 270 calories, 8 grams of fat, 4 grams of saturated fat, 30 grams of carbs, 24 grams of sugar, and a bunch of vitamins mixed in, its a good start but I wouldnt eat one each day but in a pinch sure why not.

Cost - At 2 bucks each they would run you about 60 bucks a month. There are far cheaper and taster bars out there. I will be buying comparing other bars in the near future.

Overall Id give this a 2.5 out of 5 stars.

You can buy these bars from Beach Bodys website in the store here.

Nice review. To be honest while I love P-90X I find all of their products way over priced. I would recommend the Pure Protein brand. I get them at Walmart for $5 a box (contains six bars). They have 20G of protein, 200 Calories and 17G of Carbs. I have only tried the Peanut Butter and Chocolate brands but they are both tasty.

Hmm. Thanks for the reviews guys! When I need a bar myself, I go for the Lemon Zest Luna Bars. Pretty tasty, and I think they're like 1.35 or so a bar. Their site has this for the nutritional info:
180 Calories, 9G of protein, 27G of carbs. I haven't yet tried their protein line but when I do I'll leave another review.
